Resistance and perfection can hinder our self worth and growth. Many times we make mistakes and don't reach our goals. We were created and designed to evolve and grow. To change and be challenged. Are you stuck? Are you your worst enemy?
When it was first placed on my heart that I needed to share my natural hair journey, I resisted. See I had no clue how it was going to look and where to start. My plate was full and I did not have the time to figure it out. There were so many questions that popped into my head. What type of platform should I use? Should I have a YouTube, Blog, or should I promote on social media? Should I create my own products or share my knowledge?
I decided I would write a book and create education. That way I could share my knowledge. This felt true to me. After making that decision more resistance and self doubt crept in. Can you relate? I am not an author? What if people do not take me seriously? Aren't there already enough people in the industry doing it. It was not until I made the decision to shift my mindset that I was able to take action. Let me tell you though this is a commitment you will need to make every single day with yourself!
You have a unique gift that was given to you. Nobody else can feel that space and you would be living unfaithful if you continue to resist those nudges. STOP IT!!!! When you honor that in yourself you will be free from small thinking and actions. Are you ready?
Each morning I want you to practice 3 things.
1. Gratitude. You can do this in a meditative form or through prayer. Before filling your mind with all the days tasks, I want you to take a deep breath. Pause, be still and be grateful. What are all the good things in your life? If your mind starts shifting to the negative immediately shift it back. Only positive vibes allowed.
2. Breathwork. This is a conscious control of breathing. This will influence the mental, emotional and physical state. Add pure therapeutic essential oils to elevate this practice. My favorites are Young Living blends like Valor or Peace and Calming.
3. Movement. Be attune and mindful about your movement. The best practice is to combine both working out and working in. Most days I choose stretching and dance.
